Summer Undercut

This cut combines really short sides with length on top. The sides are not faded which creates a nice contrast, with a dramatic difference between the length of the sides and the length of the top. The short sides help to keep you cool, and the longer top gives you more styling options. If you just allow the sides to regrow, by winter it will be grown out enough to help keep you warm.

Short Pompadour

Pompadours can be a bit warm and difficult to maintain in the summer, but you can still get the same vibe with short pomp. It has just enough length to give you that classic bump in the front, but it’s not so long that it will cause you to overheat or allow the humidity to make it deflate and fall flat. After a couple of months when the weather has turned cool you’ll have enough length for a full pompadour.

French Crop

A French crop is perfect for this time of year because its short back and sides allow lots of airflows to help keep you cool, while the longer top protects your scalp from the sun and leaves enough length to be able to easily grow it out to keep you warm in the fall. With the straight-line fringe in front, this cut can look a bit helmet-like if you slick it down. So ask your stylist to texture the top to add dimension, and style with a matte clay or pomade to avoid a shiny helmet head.
